Greetings Snell Middle School community! Home of the Miners!
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself to you as the Dean of Students at Snell Middle School. I have had the honor to work in different capacities in the Cobre Consolidated School District for 17 years and in October 2022, I marked 30 years in the profession. One can say that I am loyal and committed to the mining community and the county of Grant.
I am a Native Grant Countian with roots dating back at least three generations. I am a licensed Master Social Worker with knowledge and experience in mental health, crisis intervention and school social work. In the Cobre District, I have served as a special education social worker, social emotional teacher, school counselor, district investigator, district threat assessor and district safety coordinator. As your Dean, I value the safety and security of all who walk through the doors at Snell and assure you my priority is safety followed by equitable instructional learning for all.
We can all attest, the last few years have been challenging, but the Miner Learning Community is evolving and will emerge on the other side more resilient, more unified, and better equipped to handle an ever-changing landscape.
I firmly believe that every child can excel and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community and our nation.
Together as partners, we will build on the traditions of the past and meet the challenges of the present. We will put the best interests of our students at the center of our purpose as we navigate into the future.
